New Airtel, Flydubai deal reduces ticket costs by 10 percent

Dar es Salaam. Purchasing an air ticket for Flydubai will costs a passenger 10 percent less if they pay through the Airtel Money platform, thanks to a partnership signed between Airtel Tanzania and the airline company yesterday.

Codenamed KWEA PIPA, the three-month promotion also simplifies digital payments for Airtel customers and businesses, according to the Airtel Money director, Mr Andrew Rugamba.

“The partnership provides businesses with convenient opportunities to manage payments. The Airtel Money payments platform offer seamless, secure payment options and guarantees our customers convenience, and affordability,” he said.

Apart from the discount, Airtel customers participating in the promotion will also have a chance to win instant prizes including airtime bonuses, motorcycles, flat-screen TVs, fridges, and cash prizes of up to Sh50 million through the company’s ongoing UPIGE MWINGI promotion.

According to the Flydubai manager in Tanzania, Mr Barani Peters, the discount will apply on the ticket price excluding airport charges.

“The KWEA PIPA promotion will allow us to serve more customers digitally with Airtel Money as it is convenient and can be accessed from anywhere anytime thus ensuring reliable transport services,” he said.
